The Rail kit,
Deadlwind's initial exclusive product, was developed in 2001 and received a patent on the
technology in 2002. The Rail kit is a closed-bolt bolt-on modification for Spyders and
Spyder clones which disconnects the bolt from the hammer and independently cycles the
bolt via a low pressure signal read from the trigger position. This resulted in
multiple advantages-
- More consistent hammer
strikes since the hammer is not affected by variances induced by the bolt (chambering different
sized paintballs, presence or absence of oils, etc)
- Probability
of chopping a ball is reduced to near-zero due to the extreme low pressure operation of the bolt.
- Smaller,
lighter weight bolt "tip" reduces reciprocating
mass, reducing kick.
- Bolt
tip remains closed longer after a shot resulting in:
- Reduced
noise.
- Reduced
blowback up into ball feed neck.
- Increased
efficiency (+35fps increase as tested on a Spyder Shutter).
- Increased
"cool factor" of Spyder or clone.

We
currently are involved with too many other projects to fully
manufacture the Rail kit, so we have put it on hold. We are,
however, open to licensing out to any partners who would be
interested in doing so, as well as selling the IP outright.
Please contact
us if you are interested. |
